On Sept14th to 18th, under the leadership of Lai Tingqian, the school’s Secretary of Party Comittee，the delegation of CUIT paid a visit to three universities, including Ritsumeikan University, Chiba University and Chiba Institute of Technology. During their visit, they carried out exchanges and communication in the form of discussion with representatives of Japanese universities, followed by visits to various kinds of laboratories and museums in school with staff from international exchange and cooperation association, school of Electronic Engineering, Commerce and Control Engineering.
The delegation visited Ritsumeikan University in the first place and was warmly welcomed by the deputy chief and vice-president, wata nabe kouzou. During a casual discussion, our delegation recalled the history of our friendship: in 2006, 28 teaching staff from CUIT participated in and completed a 21-day’s “college management and operation training course” held in Ritsumeikan University. In 2008, director of the International Office of Ritsumeikan, yamai toshiaki, led a group of people to our university for exchange. After the great earthquake happened in Wenchuan, Sichuan in 2008, Ritsumeikan University sent a telegram to show their deep consolation. After recalling the exchanges in the past and looking forward to the future, wata nabe kouzou introduced their subjects and majors in detail, especially those 19 independent research institutes in school, hoping to enhance cooperation between 2 sides. He also said he welcomed professors in the same major field from our university to do some research in their school and all our leaders and teachers to their campus to put forward some suggestions on their work. Chief of international cooperation office, vice president of information and technology institute and so on were also involved in the informal discussion.
Then, the delegation visited Chiba Institute of Technology and had a meeting with president, professors from school of social system science and a director of robot laboratory. As a representative of our university, Mr. Lai introduced the history of our school, achievements in teaching and scientific research as well as purpose of this visit. The president showed his support on this and said, Chiba Institute of Technology has been carrying out exchanges and cooperation with Chinese universities all the time and there are a large number of Chinese students in Japan, from undergraduate students to graduate students to PHD, and it goes the same with exchanges between teachers. He hopes to see further cooperation with our university in fields like studying abroad, short-term exchange and so on. After that, they discussed some issues including policy of studying abroad, credit management and finally reached a consensus.
Our delegation visited Chiba University on Sept.18 and had a meeting with a professor to discuss basic conditions on disciplinary, curriculum, teaching quality and and issues concerning cooperation and exchanges.
The delegation also visited the system control research center and watched innovative experiment achievement with detailed explanation made by students through different kinds of controlling theories and experiment platforms. For hybrid dynamic system control, students have built hybrid dynamic automatic driving models of robot cars and two different sets of experience system, which have made the networking control and stability control of quantized feedback when real time data has been lost partly. Chiba University offered advanced and well-equipped conditions to students for experiments, which has improved their comprehensive ability of applying complex control theories with experiment platforms.
