General information

When Chengdu University of Information Technology first opened its doors to only a few students and teachers in 1951, Chengdu is still a city that lacked modern and descent equipment for education. While after years of transformation and reform, it became a university co-sponsored by both Sichuan Province and China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and was officially renamed as Chengdu University of Information Technology (CUIT) in late April, 2015.

Today, it is home to more than 23,000 undergraduate students, 3500 postgraduates and over 1400 full-time faculty, and is still located in one of the largest central cities in western China with a population over 200 million.

 

With 61 different majors in 19 colleges, CUIT aspires to prepare its students for lives of profession and contribution. Students at CUIT will study with excellent faculty who nurture their capacity for innovation and application together with their classmates. They will pursue a multi-disciplinary education system in Engineering, Science and Management, together with Economics, Literature, Law and Art, while thoroughly immersing themselves in a diverse academic atmosphere characterized with information technology and meteorology. They will master all-round skills in a community where serves as an important base for personnel training and scientific research for the industries of information, meteorology, statistics and national defense in China.
