Vice President He Jianxin Leads a Delegation to the 12th CDIO International Conference

Vice President He Jianxin and a five-people delegation participated in the 12th CDIO International Conference held by Turku University of Applied Science in Turku,Finland. The conference attracted more than 330 delegates from 33 countries around the world. Chen Min, Director of Teaching Affairs Office, Zhang Luqiao, teacher from Information Security and Engineering College, Liu Wei, teacher from Resources and Environment College, and Gai Qiuyan, staff from International Office were in the delegation.

The theme of this conference is Enhancing Innovation Competencies through Advances in Engineering Education and its agenda includes keynote Sessions, Parallel Section, Posters, Workshops and Academy Students’Work.

CUIT representatives delivered reports in the conference, focusing on the published papers about the talent training scheme reform, training on students' innovative practice ability, curriculum experiment system design and the curriculum teaching reform, and also shared CUIT’s latest progress in CDIO engineering education reform. As one of the CDIO committee members, CUIT representatives also reported the 2016-2017 work plan to CDIO organization and listened to the work report of representatives from each global areas.

In the communication section of the conference, He Jianxin exchanged views on cooperation about establishing CDIO engineering project-based program with Mr. Farzad Rayegani,Deputy Dean of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering Technology of Sheridan College in Canada. He had a negotiation on the CDIO teacher training cooperation project with Mr. Benedict Cheong, CEO of Singapore Temasek Foundation. After the conference, He Jianxin visited Vaisala company, which is the world famous meteorological instrument manufacturer and had a discussion on the weather radar software and equipment.

A series of good results were obtained during this visit, including introducing the development of CUIT’s CDIO engineering education reform to global representatives, knowing the latest progress of engineering education reform,learning achievements and experience of universities worldwide in the practice process on engineering education and discussing with participant universities and organizations effectively for the future possible collaborative project and etc.
