On October 10, the vice president of Chengdu Univerity of Information Technology (CUIT) Shu Hongping signed MOU with the vice president Kelly Smith and Mr. Keith Nugent of La Trobe University (LTU) of Australia in Beijing. The delegation also included Mr. Nandi Lakshmanan, Director of the International Division of LTU, and Mr. Giles Jacobs, the Regional Director of Grant China Area.
Shu Hongping expressed the hope that long-term and in-depth exchanges and cooperation in terms of teacher exchanges, scientific research cooperation and student programs could be carried out as soon as possible on the basis of effective communication and exchanges in the early stages of the two universities. Kelly Smith said LTU would be happy to expand its collaboration with universities in southwestern China and would like to have more in-depth exchanges and cooperation in the field of engineering, including teacher exchanges, student programs and scientific research. Keith Nugen expressed his view that LTU intended to work with CUIT to explore the exchange and cooperation of scientific research in the field of data analysis and network security. The meeting in Beijing further deepened the understanding of CUIT in the field of information technology and laid a solid foundation for future research cooperation.
At the meeting, the two Parties agreed to jointly carry out the 2+2 double bachelor’s degrees articulation programs and planned to sign the CUIT-LTU Double 2 + 2 Bachelor’s Degrees Articulation Programs Cooperation Agreement in December 2018.
Following the meeting, the two Parities successfully signed the Memorandum of Understanding between Chengdu University of Information Technology and La Trobe University.
