Zhou Jiliu Led a Delegation to Australia for Exchange Visits

From Dec. 10 to Dec. 14, CUIT Party Secretary Zhou Jiliu led a delegation to the University of La Trobe (Mildura Campus) and the University of Tasmania (Hobart Campus and Launceston Campus) in Australia for exchange visits. During the visit, the delegation signed an agreement on program collaboration with the University of La Trobe, Australia, and conducted in-depth discussions with the University of Tasmania, Australia, on collaboration in scientific research and other aspects.

During their visit to Mildura Campus of LTU, the delegation held in-depth discussions on the cooperation between the two universities and the implementation of the program with the Vice-Chancellor Sonia Reisenhofer; Kelly Smith, the Vice-Chancellor in charge of foreign affairs; Henry Duh, Dean of the College of Computer Science. A number of consensus were reached after discussions. First, both universities should focus on the implementation of the 2 + 2 dual degree undergraduate program for Computer science and Technology majors, and the expansion of student cooperation programs in the fields of Electronic Engineering, Network Security etc. to promote cultivating international talents. Second, both universities should establish an interactive platform for scientific research cooperation, sharing resources in the fields of Big Data Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, Network Security, Electronic Engineering and Material Physics, jointly declaring international cooperation projects, promoting the transformation of scientific research achievements of the two universities, and exploring the transformation and application of these achievements in the areas of Internet of Things and block chains. Third, both universities should set up a platform for innovation and entrepreneurship, share industry resources, send students to famous enterprises such as Cisco and Optus for internship in Australia, promote the deep integration of "production", "teaching" and "research" between the two universities, establish a cooperation platform for sharing employment information and industry resources, and build a platform for students' innovation and entrepreneurship between the two universities.

After the discussion, both universities signed the 2 + 2 Computer Science Undergraduate Dual Degree Cooperation Agreement between Chengdu University of Information Technology and La Trobe University. The delegation also visited computer lab, electronic lab and network security lab and intelligent classrooms of La Trobe Universities.


 


 


The delegation paid a visit to the University of Tasmania, Australia, and had in-depth discussions on exchanges with Professor Beyond·Kang of the Human Interface Terminal (HIT) Lab, which included the development of Virtual Reality Driving Simulation System, Multiple Human-computer Interaction Input and Feedback technologies, and Computer Modeling and Simulation of Elderly Behavior. Both universities hoped to achieve more breakthroughs and carry out scientific research cooperation in related fields as soon as possible.


 


The delegation includes He Jia, Director of International Office, Fang Rui, Director of Deans Office, and Chen Min, Secretary of the General Party Branch, College of Computer Science.
