On the invitation of CUIT, Prof. Mark Bender gave an academic lecture titled Comparison between Chinese and American Folk Culture - Taking the Liangshan Yi people and the Appalachian Mountain Area as Example in the conference room of the first teaching building in Longquan Campus. Teachers and students from School of Culture and Art of Chinese Literature and Chinese International Education attended. The lecture was chaired by Prof. Wang Lu.
Prof. Bender showed ethnic distribution of the Appalachian Mountains in eastern United States, introduced basic points of the local American folk customs and frontier achievements obtained so far.
The scenes of the folklore life of ethnic minorities in China and the United States slowly exhibited in the lecture. With excitement and vitality, the lecture ended in highly praises. Prof. Bender answered questions about Chinese and American folklore humorously.
