The school of Communication Engineering has become a large community of over 59 teaching, research and supported staff and 1138 undergraduates. The former one with 30 years undergraduates teaching and lecturing experiences is one of undergraduate courses with great success and reputation, awarded State-Characteristic Course in 2008. The other was awarded Sichuan Provincial Talented Engineer Training Scheme in 2012. The school has established four leading research labs including Modern Communication, Computer Communication, Embedded Systems, Optical Communication and Micro-Electronics, and two undergraduate labs in Communication Engineering and Micro-Electronics. The labs cover over 1000-meter square and are equipped with 1107 devices, the total value of which is over 13 million RMB. Additionally, the Key Lab of Provincial Higher Educational Institute has 11 devices with the total value of over 10 million RMB.

The School has since grown to be a well-organized teaching and research team with excellent and solid academic background, and 48 full-time academic staff. 20 staff have PhD degrees, and 8 staff are PhD candidates. 70% staffs are under 45 years.
