Prof. Li Jun visited CUIT on invitation, made lecture titled New Generation of Weather Satellite Remote Sensing Application and Scientific Problems in Conference Room 310 of Meteorology Building. The lecture was chaired by Vice Prof. Chen Keyi from School of Atmospheric Sciences, teachers and students participated in the conference.

During the lecture, Prof. Li presented the development of satellite remote sensing technology, mainly on the research achievements and practical applications of the new generation of stationary satellites. He introduced application of satellite remote sensing technology in three aspects of development and verification of scientific algorithms for stationary satellite quantitative products, application of scientific data and future development, explained the profound scientific problems including typhoon detection, cloud chart simulation technology and application, and numerical forecast model test in simple terms. The whole lecture is rich in content and practical, inspired audiences’ interest and enthusiasm in learning satellite remote sensing technology, and strengthen the academic exchange between University of Wisconsin and CUIT.
