Dr. David Hudak, Senior Radar Expert from Department of Environment and Climate Change of Canada was invited to our university for a three-week academic visit from June 20 to July 9.
Dr. David Hudak gave a series of academic lectures to teachers and students in conference room 215 of the Meteorological Building on the topics of《Environment and Climate Change Canada(ECCC)Science and Technology Branch Research Priorities》《Severe Weather Detecting and Short-term Forecasting》《GPM Ground Validation Research》《Radar Quality Assessment Methodology and Results》. He introduced the weather radar`s research direction and future research plan of the Canadian Department of Environment and Climate Change, strong weather detection technology and short-term forecast,GPM satellite ground verification and radar quality assessment, etc.
During the visit, Dr. David visited the exoteric laboratory for atmospheric of the China meteorological administration, the Sichuan meteorological administration and Chengdu Zhongdian jinjiang information industry co., ltd. and had in-depth exchange with teachers and students of our university on key technologies of weather radar and quality control of radar data to improve the accuracy of weather forecast.
