Great news! Chengdu University of Information Technology (CUIT) has received official approval for its first Sino-foreign cooperative education institution and its first Sino-foreign cooperative education program.

On May 25, the Ministry of Education granted approval for the establishment of the ECAM LaSalle–CUIT Sino-French Institute of Engineering, jointly run by CUIT and ECAM LaSalle, France, as well as the Software Engineering undergraduate program offered in partnership with Obuda University, Hungary.

The ECAM LaSalle–CUIT Sino-French Institute of Engineering is a non-legal-entity cooperative education institution established between CUIT and ECAM LaSalle. It systematically introduces the French model of generalist elite engineering education and combines it with CUIT’s strengths in electronic and information technology. The Institute offers three undergraduate majors: Computer Science and Technology, Electronic Information Engineering, and Mechatronic Engineering. Adopting an interdisciplinary “engineering generalist + specialized track” training model, the Institute aims to cultivate engineering talents with both strong technical expertise and cross-disciplinary management capabilities.

CUIT and Obuda University, Hungary have jointly launched a Software Engineering program that directly responds to the evolving demands of the information technology and software industries. By merging the high-quality curricula, practical training, and research resources of both institutions, the program aims to foster high-caliber, application-oriented software engineering professionals who possess both solid professional capabilities and a broad international outlook.

The simultaneous approval of the institution and the program represents a major milestone in the CUIT’s internationalization drive, ushering in a new era for CUIT’s Sino-foreign cooperative education. The establishment of these two collaborative platforms will effectively introduce premium overseas educational resources, advanced pedagogical concepts, and innovative training models, thereby further diversifying the CUIT’s disciplinary structure and expanding its talent cultivation channels. In addition, they will offer both faculty and students valuable platforms for international engagement, elevate the CUIT’s educational caliber and comprehensive competitiveness, enhance its global reputation, and provide strong momentum for its high-quality development.
