Professor Clemens Simmer from the Meteorological Institute of University of Bonn delivered a lecture titled Observation and Simulation the Terrestrial Water and Energy Cycle from the Groundwater to the Atmosphere in the conference room 310 of the Meteorology Building. This lecture was hosted by Professor Wenjun with the attendance of teachers and students from Atmospheric Sciences College.
Professor Simmer briefly introduced teaching environment and characteristics in University of Bonn and shared the progress of the trans-regional collaborative research center. He made a detailed explanation of the simulation mechanism etc. of the Terrestrial Modeling System Platform which set up by the research center. Through data analysis, he pointed out that the Terrestrial Modeling System can be universally adapted with weathers and climate imitations in different areas, however, it still exists some systematic errors.
The report guest actively interacted with the teachers and students present, shared and discussed the scientific issues of numerical simulation and physical process parameterization.
