Mr. Myrrl Byler, Doctor of Intercultural Studies and Comparative Cultural Studies, Director of MPC, Department of History, University of Eastern Mennonite University, was invited to give an academic lecture entitled Together: Language and Identity in our school on November 6th.
More than 100 student’s from Chinese international education, Chinese language and Literature of Cultures and Arts College,and part of teacher attended the lecture.The lecture was hosted by Mr. Xu Youping,who is the teacher from Cultures and Arts College.
Mr. Myrrl Byler combine the individual self development with individual experience,talked about the role of language to form personality and temperament for the student eloquently,and revealed the general rules of acceptance and learning from new language to new culture ,and fully explained the necessity of site-specific recommendations to language teaching with lively examples,and advocated that we should pay attention to the learner's mode of thinking and cultural background in teaching.
